Dragon Fundraiser for Health
Shoppers can check their health and raise money for the Carroll school district Saturday at the Central Market Health Fair and Diggin’ for Dragons fundraiser. The events will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Central Market, 1425 E. Southlake Blvd.
Planned are two runs, a 5-kilometer race and a 1-mile fun run, both benefiting Diggin’ for Dragons. The runs start at 9 and 9:30 a.m, respectively.
The health fair is the first of its kind at any Central Market location, said spokeswoman Heather Senter. Doctors from Harris Methodist H-E-B Hospital will be on hand for blood pressure testing, cholesterol screening, glucose testing and body fat measurement. Charges for the services, which will be in the community room, will vary. Specialists will offer advice on LASIK, skin care and gastric banding procedures.
A bounce house and Lego Education Center will entertain children, and the Hunter Hendrickson Band will perform periodically from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the patio. Runners are encouraged to park at Spine Team Texas, Harris Methodist Hospital or Town Square, where they can take a trolley to Central Market.
