GHS Project Graduation Hopes to Raise $60,000
Staff Report
The Courier
The Texas Department of Transportation reports that for a high school senior, graduation night is the deadliest night of their life. The Grapevine High School Project Graduation was created to keep seniors off the roads by organizing an overnight lock-in event that is alcohol and drug free. The program began almost 17 years ago at GHS and continues to have a high level of participation. This year the goal is to raise $60,000 to provide an evening of fun for the over 500 graduating seniors, at the Main Event in Lewisville.
GHS Project Graduation also has an ongoing fundraiser.
GHS Project Graduation 2008 has teamed up with Smoothie King of Southlake to sell smoothies on Monday afternoons after school near the student parking lot at GHS. Three types of smoothies are offered for $3 each. A portion of the proceeds goes to Project Graduation to fund the senior party. Contact Cynthia Becker at 817-300-9085 to help with sales.
