Police Blotter
Colleyville
MAY 1: 9 a.m., a Hurst builder told police that thieves had stolen 350 feet of copper pipe [$750] from a construction site in the 6100 block of Colleyville Boulevard.
MAY 3: 4:30 p.m., a North Richland Hills man reported that his GMC pickup had been damaged [$1,200] during a burglary attempt in the parking lot of Costa Vida restaurant, 5615 Colleyville Blvd.
MAY 6: police were called to the 7100 block of Peter’s Path to investigate theft of nine plants [$225] from landscaping at Warwick Parc Homeowners Association.
MAY 7: 6:45 p.m., another smash-and-grab vehicle burglary was reported at La Hacienda Ranch, 5250 Texas 121, where thieves stole two Dell laptop computers [$1,400], $2,000 cash and a Vietnamese passport from a 2008 Nissan Maxima rented by a Minnesota couple. A string of vehicle burglaries at businesses, mostly restaurants, continues in a four-block stretch of the highway that runs between Hall-Johnson and Glade roads.
Grapevine
MAY 2: 8:50 p.m., police arrested a Coppell woman, 50, for shoplifting two shirts worth $80 from Saks Fifth Avenue, Grapevine Mills. This was her third theft offense, so she was transferred to Tarrant County Jail on $3,500 bond.
MAY 3-6: Police arrested nine people for driving while intoxicated. Roadway arrests included Mustang, Hilltop, Grapevine Mills Parkway and Highways 114, 121 and 635.
MAY 3: 8:59 a.m., a woman, 28, in an apartment complex in the 800 block of East Dove reported that a man she had just met and took home stole her laptop computer, purse and MP3 player while she slept.
MAY 4: 5 a.m., police were called to the parking lot of Fairfield Inn and Suites, 2050 Texas 121, to investigate four car burglaries where windows were smashed. Losses included a camcorder [$600], sunglasses [$90], golf clubs [$1,500] and golf shoes [$100].
4:28 p.m., a Houston woman, 23, was arrested for shoplifting $6,000-$7,000 worth of merchandise at three stores in Grapevine Mills: Tommy Hilfiger, Group USA and Abercrombie and Fitch. This was an organized retail theft charge, with three others suspected but not yet arrested.
MAY 7: 3:39 a.m., police arrested Etron P. Osteen, 24, of DeSoto, accused of stealing an ATM, along with four other suspects, from a convenience store in the 1700 block of William D. Tate. Osteen bonded out of Grapevine jail the next day on $21,000 bond. He also has a Lancaster warrant, police said.
